Amherst College invites applications for the Assistant Director, Women’s & Gender Center. The Assistant Director, Women’s & Gender Center is a full-time, year-round position, starting at $50,908 – commensurate with experience. Amherst College invites applications for the position of Assistant Director, Women?s and Gender Resource Center to further the center?s mission to support the personal, academic, and professional growth of students by forwarding conversations on equity, gender, and feminism on our campus. The WGC works to dismantle structures of patriarchal oppression through education, programming, student leadership development, and community building. We approach our work with a critical transformative intersectional feminist lens and center women, femmes, and nonbinary individuals. As a student-centered space, the WGC strives to empower students to actively participate in social justice work in the Amherst College community and beyond.

Reporting to the Director of the Women?s and Gender Center (WGC) and the Queer Resource Center (QRC), the Assistant Director will supervise the student staff, day-to-day operations, student-led programming, as well as manage critical center communications platforms. The Assistant Director will work in collaboration with the Director of WGC and QRC to develop, implement, and assess signature programs and initiatives, including the Trans Connection Project, Trans Empowerment Series, The Free Closet, The F Word Series, Communal Care, Craftivist, etc. The Assistant Director of the WGC will work collaboratively on shared projects and initiatives with the constitutive departments of the Office of Identity and Cultural Reosurces? composed of Amherst?s six identity/affinity-based resources center departments, including: the Center for International Student Engagement, Center for Religious and Spiritual Life, Class and Access Resource Center, Multicultural Resource Center, Queer Resource Center, and the Women?s & Gender Center. The Assistant Director will work with various campus partners and stakeholders to fulfill the department?s mission through educational, social, and cultural programming that centers and affirms the various communities the Center serves.
