To begin this in-person computer skills workshop, participants will receive a free, 6-month learner membership to Northstar Digital Literacy’s online learning platform. Through Northstar’s interactive, online curriculum, workshop participants will learn and practice essential skills needed for a successful job search, as well as strategies for managing one's online presence to support career success. To begin this in-person computer skills workshop, participants will receive a free, 6-month learner membership to Northstar Digital Literacy’s online learning platform. Through Northstar’s interactive online curriculum, this workshop will cover two key areas: using email (Gmail) and working with Google Docs word processing software. Participants will learn to create a professional email account, practice email etiquette, manage inboxes, and recognize phishing scams. Through Northstar’s interactive, online curriculum, workshop participants will learn and practice skills using three of the most commonly used workplace software tools: Microsoft Word word processor, Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint slideshow presentation creator.
