User Experience Librarian

WESTERN NEW ENGLAND SCHOOL OF LAW seeks innovative, service-oriented candidates for our User Experience Librarian position. This Librarian assists with all primary library functions, with a focus on the preservation, discoverability, and accessibility of our library materials. Additionally, this position’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to assisting patrons with research inquiries, participating in the Library’s instructional programs; providing Circulation Desk coverage, and assisting with special projects.

This is a full-time position with hours generally, Monday-Friday, 9:00-5:00, except for one evening per week during the academic year and two Saturdays per month. Must be flexible and willing to vary hours depending on library and patron needs.

An ALA-accredited Master’s degree in Library Science or substantial completion toward this degree or appropriately related discipline with one (1) year of related experience; or a combination of education, training, and experience which would lead to the competencies required for successful performance of the position’s essential duties. Knowledge of OCLC and one of the major ILS systems. Strong service orientation. Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Law library experience is desirable, although we will train the right candidate.
