Manager or Director of Technical Services – Roofing Products

Opportunity
OMG’s Roofing Products Division is a market-leading manufacturer of rooftop accessories, adhesives, and fastening systems that secure low slope roofing assemblies on commercial and industrial buildings. Reporting to the Vice President of New Product Development and Innovation, The Manager or Director of Technical Services is accountable for evaluating applications and ensuring that OMG products meet requirements and are used safely. The Manager or Director of Technical Services is responsible for managing code and approval compliance and participating in industry technical organizations to gain awareness of developments in building envelope technology and must be well versed in the application of the products that OMG produces. The Manager or Director of Technical Services also leads and develops the Technical Services Team, which is responsible for supporting customers when application questions arise and training the field sales and support team on best practices related to OMG products’ installation and use.

Responsibilities
Promote Safety as the Number One Priority of all OMG employees.
Manage testing and documentation to meet industry and market approval requirements, including program management with agencies such as Factory Mutual, Miami Dade County, Underwriters Laboratories, and others.
Identify and communicate any developments that could impact the marketability of OMG products from a technical standpoint.
Regularly review the competitive approvals landscape and identify ways to differentiate OMG products.
Manage the Technical Services Team to ensure all technical communication is accurate, consistent, and supportable with data.
Manage product liability and warranty support, including claim review and negotiation.
Work with Product Managers to deliver the technical support required to compete in the marketplace effectively.
Support new product development projects.
Leverage technical product and application expertise to be a trusted partner and to reinforce OMG?s standing as a technical leader within the roofing industry.
Deliver responsive support to our customers to strengthen our partnerships and increase our value as a supplier.
Manage the Technical Services budget.
Serve on industry boards and associations.
Adhere to all employee policies and procedures to ensure consistent management practices.

Requirements
Engineering Degree and P.E. License.
8+ years industry experience.
Demonstrated success managing building material-technical team.
Ability to prioritize and communicate clearly and lead cross functional teams.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with commercial, operational, and technical teams.
High-level leadership and decision-making skills.
Ability to inspire, influence, and develop people.
Ability to juggle multiple priorities and make things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; demonstrated strong bias for action.
20-40% travel, including some outside of the United States.
Ability to stand, walk, climb, talk, and hear, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25lbs.Strong computer skills, including MS Office Suite (Excel and PowerPoint), Minitab.
Positive attitude, good judgment, and excellent time management skills.
Strong sense of responsibility and ownership!
