Sr. Accommodation Coordinator
Position Type: Staff Full-time
Hours per week: 37.5
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm

Department Summary & Job Purpose:
Mount Holyoke College is seeking an experienced professional to join a team focused on the delivery of accommodations and services for students with disabilities. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated knowledge of disability services, legal compliance at the college level, be knowledgeable about best practices in providing appropriate accommodations within a rigorous liberal arts educational program, and have demonstrated leadership in the disability services work.

The Senior Accommodation Coordinator will play a key role in the leadership of the Disability Services team. The Senior Accommodation Coordinator serves as a primary resource to educate, train, and guide the College in understanding disability access, rights, and responsibilities. Responsibilities include a direct service responsibility to determine eligibility for and the development of individualized accommodation plans. In addition, the Senior Accommodation Coordinator will collaborate with staff and faculty around accommodation plans, and consultation with faculty and staff colleagues around best practices, reasonable accommodations and support of students registered with disability services.

Disability Services is positioned within the College’s newly created division of Student Success.

The Senior Accommodation Coordinator will work closely with other members of the Division of Student Success specifically class deans. In addition, the role requires an ability to work collaboratively with campus partners including colleagues in the Divisions of Student Life, Academic Affairs, and Diversity Equity and Inclusion. The Senior Accommodation Coordinator will work closely with the 504 Officer of the College and participate in discussions regarding campus accessibility. The Senior Accommodation Coordinator reports directly to the Dean of the College.

Qualifications:
Graduate degree in a relevant discipline
At least 5 years of experience in higher education working with people who have disabilities
Experience in reading and interpreting psycho-educational evaluations and other professional documentation
A well-developed knowledge base regarding learning skills and the use of technology as an auxiliary aid for students with disabilities
Knowledge of relevant laws including the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973
