First-Line Supervisors of Production and Operating Workers

Description

Our growing company is looking for an energized, talented and results-driven Supervisor to manage and train staff to be successful. The ideal candidate should have experience organizing work groups, coaching employees, monitoring progress, enforcing rules and ensuring quality compliance. You must possess strong communication and leaderships skills as well as the ability to resolve workplace issues effectively. The Supervisor will guide, train and support their team members and needs to be highly motivated to help our company fulfill its larger mission. The successful candidate will be people-centered, supportive and flexible in order to get the most of his/her team. You should also be a natural leader that?s focused on inspiring employees to own their work and deliver better results. Training will predominantly take place on first shift- Monday through Friday 7:30am till 5:00pm.
Supervisor responsibilities
Set performance goals and project deadlines that align with the company?s larger plans
Delegate work to employees, track progress and provide constructive feedback throughout projects
Address problems with work quality, issues between employees and other concerns in an effective, timely manner
Supervisor skills
Eight to ten years of experience effectively leading and managing people. A proven track record of implementing and successfully executing employee relations strategies and creating a positive work environment.
Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and/or Six Sigma training preferred.
Background in metals is preferred but not required
Project Management
Great organizational skills and an eye for detail
Create the stages of a manufacturing system that manufactures products in the most time-efficient and cost-effective way possible, while always maintaining staff safety and product quality.
Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and workflows to identify areas that could benefit from changes and improvements.
Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
Overseas manufacturing routing and work center times to complete a required process step.
Researching tools, methodologies, and processes and implement solutions to improve production utilization and efficiency. Record findings and results.
Ability to Problem Solve and provide Decision Making methods to tackle complex Product and Process Quality issues.
Strong Manufacturing background
Establish and maintain effective communication vehicles such as toolbox meetings and employee meetings.
Make daily decisions on production schedules and personnel related matters that affect the delivery and quality.
Monitors process conditions of Manufacturing Equipment
Lead investigations into manufacturing abnormalities, determine root cause and suggest countermeasures
standard operating procedures, safety, quality control and training.
Helps to coordinate the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results.
Designs, develops and tests and/or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.
Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency.
Represents manufacturing on cross-functional teams.
