Two positions available in Holyoke and one in Westfield.
REQUIREMENTS: ?Applicant must be between the ages of 18 and 21. High School Diploma or equivalent. Must meet YouthWorks Program Eligibility Guidelines. Valid MA Driver?s License and own personal vehicle or have access to reliable vehicle. Excellent organizational, time-management and interpersonal skills, and strong desire to work and make a difference in the lives of urban youth. Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Computer literacy in word processing and email. Bilingual/Bi-cultural preferred. College students are strongly encouraged to apply.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist with the YouthWorks Career Readiness Program and work closely with the Program Coordinator in ensuring that youth ages14-21 are engaged and fully participating in YouthWorks employment experience. Develop job opportunities for youth participants in the summer job program through ongoing employer outreach and follow-up. Assist with application processing, providing orientations, weekly progress reports, timesheet processing and program evaluations based on the Massachusetts Work Based Learning plan. Complete program intake and case management activities, collecting and verifying required documentation for all youth participants. Perform daily check-ins on youth progress, collect timesheets, and address any program needs or concerns. Assess the progress of youth participants throughout the summer; conducting daily/weekly contact with worksites and providing reasonable youth career counseling when appropriate. Maintain positive professional relationships with program participants and community employers. All other duties deemed necessary by the program supervisor.
