The May Center School for Autism and Developmental Disabilities in West Springfield is currently accepting resumes for a full-time Instructor to provide educational services to children and adolescents, ages 3-22, with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities. We provide full-day, year-round educational and vocational services for children and adolescents from preschool to age 22, using proven methods of treatment and teaching based on the latest clinical and applied research.

Come join our dynamic team! As an Instructor, you would be placed in a classroom to support students individually in our 1:1 student to staff ratio school. You will receive in – depth training with each student in your class and rotate to work with several students in your classroom each day. In addition to working directly with students, there will be time devoted to training, meetings and student case management to best support the students we serve.

The Instructor position opens the door for professional development by providing excellent training in the fields of special education and ABA with future opportunities for people interested in becoming a special education teacher or behavior analyst.

Responsibilities

Implement teaching protocols and behavior support plans

Work in a fast-paced educational environment

Deliver student instruction using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis

Record and analyze data

Provide case management

Manage behavioral crisis

Provide transportation of students within the community as needed

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred

Working knowledge and experience with Applied Behavior Analysis preferred

Previous experience working with children with autism preferred

Experience managing challenging behaviors preferred

Valid US driver’s license preferred Availability to work 40 hours per week Monday through Friday including summer
