Medical Interpreter
This position works to ensure the efficient and effective communication to the bilingual (English/Spanish) patients of the
Holyoke Health Center (HHC). This position will also support general office administration to help daily clinic operations.
Provides accurate interpretation of medical information to patients and staff via telephone, video and in person and
ensures understanding of information between doctors, nurses, medical staff and patients. Explains HHC resources, office
protocols, and limitations to providers, clinicians and patients; makes appropriate referrals and other related duties.
Position requires a high school diploma or equivalent; proficient in English and Spanish, medical interpretation certification
strongly preferred; if not fully certified, must take national exam within 12 months of hire; verification of a minimum of 40
hours of medical interpreting training required.
