The ideal candidate will be responsible for operation of finances for the Greater Holyoke YMCA. Responsibilities include:

Monitors monthly financial operations, prepares analysis and reports, and gives guidance to executive and operating staff. Works closely with staff on issues that affect financial outcome. Secures and allocates program or project resources so that strategic objectives can be achieved. Prepares specific recommendations.

Develops, reviews, updates and implements internal control systems for the YMCA to adequately safeguard the YMCA?s financial resources. Provide a solid basis for accurately reporting financial data and oversees internal audits which check for compliance on a variety of policies and standards. Provides recommendations for improvement.

Manages all functions of accounting and business operations, ensuring that legal and audit requirements are met, and that best practices and maximum efficiency are obtained.

Oversees and provides leadership with CEO to the annual budget process including: issuing guidelines and procedures; training staff, auditing budgets, overseeing data input and preparing reports.

Manages the annual independent audit which includes the preparation of financial statements and the IRS 990 tax form and the C-trac report for Y USA. Prepares or oversees the preparation of required audit schedules; maintains records; acts as liaison with audit team and YMCA Finance Committee.

Responsible for preparation of outside reports and filings ensuring YMCA is compliant in all fiscal matters.

Oversees the month-end and year-end closings and the preparation of statements and reports.

Responsible for implementing, managing and overseeing payroll administration including maintaining records and related systems.

Serves as resident expert in Daxko accounting or related accounting software.

Collects and maintains data on federal and state government contracts as well as capital and program grants.

Ensures timely and accurate submission of data requested for fiscal management such as YMCA of the USA, Department of Labor, etc.

Anticipates trends and their implications on the future of the organization.

Hires, trains and oversees assigned staff, providing direct supervision. Arranges for back-up for staff as needed.

Works with CEO regarding insurance plans for property, directors and officers and is primary contact regarding claims.

Maintains all necessary records and accounting reports and records all transactions on a timely basis.

Maintains good working relationships with auditors, bankers, investment counselors, attorneys and other professional advisors.

Ensures YMCA maintains all needed files and records per federal and state regulations.

Cpr and first aid certification required within first 90 days.
