ENERGY PROGRAMS REFERRAL SPECIALIST

Community Action of Pioneer Valley Energy Programs include Fuel Assistance, Weatherization, and Heating System Repair and Replacement. These programs serve thousands of clients every year throughout Franklin and Hampshire Counties and the North Quabbin Region. The Referral Specialist is the first point of contact for clients seeking weatherization, energy audits, heating system repair and replacement, and home repairs. The primary responsibilities include answering the weatherization and repair phone lines, screening caller eligibility for various energy programs, scheduling appointments, and making connections to resources.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent listening skills and the ability to demonstrate patience and a non-judgmental attitude when dealing with people experiencing crises. They will have sensitivity to cultural and socioeconomic diversity and the needs of individuals with low incomes while understanding poverty and its impact on individuals and families. The Referral Specialist must be proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Office applications, database programs, calendars, and the ability to quickly learn new software. Knowledge of Franklin, Hampshire & N. Quabbin region agencies and resources, excellent customer service and communication skills, and the ability to process information quickly and accurately are necessary.

Minimum qualifications include: Associates Degree or equivalent professional experience, five years’ experience in Human Service or related field or applicable work experience working with diverse individuals and families that have low incomes. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for experience or additional directly related experience may be substituted for education. Pay Range: $18.62-19.76/hr; 37.5 hrs/wk
