Employee Relations and Accommodations Coordinator (HR Generalist)
Position Type: Staff Full-time
Hours per week: 37.5
Weeks per year: 52
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm

Department Summary & Job Purpose:
In partnership with the Mount Holyoke College community, the Human Resources Department supports the mission of the College by providing programs and services that attract, develop and retain a highly qualified and diverse workforce. The Department is committed to working strategically with the community in advocating for a work environment where the contributions of each employee are recognized and where every individual is treated fairly and equitably. We provide leadership in identifying and responding to the community’s changing needs, and in providing guidance in the development, implementation, and administration of policies and procedures in support of our mission.

The Employee Relations and Accommodations Coordinator will primarily provide advisory service to employees on human resources employee matters and oversee the employee accommodations process. As the Accommodations Coordinator for faculty and staff, this position will be the primary contact for employees as they proceed through the accommodation process. This role expects exceptional communication and organizational skills, superior attention to detail, ability to prioritize, strong analytical and critical thinking skills, and employee-centric focus.

Qualifications:
– Knowledge of human resources state and federal laws. Demonstrates commitment to staying abreast of human resources management best practices.
– Knowledge of federal and state disability laws, specifically ADA/ADAAA and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.
– Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to successfully promote a work environment that values the principles of the MHC community and supports respectful interactions.
– Ability to effectively serve as an advocate, resolve issues, and implement creative solutions.
