Description

EDR Specialist-

Reporting to the Information Technology Director, the EDR (Electronic Dental Record) Specialist oversees and
supervises the clinical and administrative functions of the Electronic Dental Record. Serves as the liaison between dentists,
clinical staff and other end users providing on-going training, education and support. Coordinates training for all new and
existing EPIC/Wisdom users. Adapts EPIC/Wisdom training materials for job/role specific training. Provides ongoing
EPIC/Wisdom support for dental provider staff and serves as the main support for the clinical function of the electronic health
record. Assists in the development of scenarios for pre-go live testing for updates and/or enhancements to the EPIC/Wisdom
system and performs system validation testing. Supports testing of new or revised EPIC/Wisdom functionality and reports
including the development and update of test plans, testing, troubleshooting and final acceptance. Identifies quality
improvement needs related to EPIC/Wisdom and implements needed methods, procedures and system
modifications. Addresses and tracks defects and enhancements being completed within the EDR. A Bachelors degree
(Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, or related field) preferred. This position requires an IT professional with at
least three years experience in an ambulatory dental care environment, preferably in a community health center. Must be
solutions oriented, and work well within a multidisciplinary team and work effectively with staff across all departments and
professional levels. Excellent interpersonal, leadership, communication (oral and written) and personnel management skills
required. Must have 3-5 years of related experience, including application management and training, with at least 3 years
of experience with EHR/EDR implementation in a healthcare setting. Project implementation, support activities, and a working
knowledge of billing, clinical, and operational workflows within a Dental environment required. Experience with EPIC/Wisdom,
NextGen, and/or Dentrix strongly preferred with numerous EPIC training and certification opportunities available
