Description

The Director of Nursing will provide supervision and support to the Medical Assistants, Clinical Nurses, LPN and Registered Nurse across several Clinics and other agency programs. The Director of Nursing will support and promote a client-centered environment that is team-based and understands the importance of self-care and a worker-friendly environment. Hours are Monday-Friday 9a-5p. Telecommuting options may be available. The clinics are closed for all major holidays, with no on-call.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Clinical and administrative supervision of all Registered Nurses, Clinic Nurses, LPN, and Medical Assistants as assigned by the VP of Medical services.
Regular face-to-face supervision of staff to assess and guide and monitor the quality of their work and provide supportive feedback.
Monitor and manage the administrative aspects of the staff’s work, including paperwork documentation, productivity, work habits, and interaction with clients, providers, and other employees.
Provide the annual evaluation of work performance, and recommend changes in employment status and compensation
Teach, guide, mentor and problem solve with the staff
Assign tasks if delegated by the VP of Medical Services.
Assist staff to handle emergencies and ethical conflicts.
Maintain a small number of Nurse Case Management clients.

PERFORMANCE CRITERIA

Programmatic goals are carried out by supervisees, or effective corrective strategies are implemented.
Assure that all policies and procedures are carried out in accordance with professional standards of practice, accreditation standards, and license or regulatory requirements.
Evaluations and other administrative tasks are done in an effective and timely manner.
Teaching style and communication skills are effective in helping supervisees to succeed and interact professionally with other staff, clients, and the community.
Ensures operation of medical and administrative equipment by verifying emergency equipment availability; completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques..

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel and the ability to learn new programs.
Able to react to change productively and to handle other tasks assigned due to changing environments.
Effective decision-making ability.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Current RN
BSN, Masters in nursing or related discipline preferred
5 years nursing experience
2 years mid-level management

Salary

$90,000-$120,000

Sign On Bonus

Up to $10,000

Bachelors or better.
