SUMMARY
The Career Specialist – Workshops, is responsible for creating and facilitating high quality, interactive and engaging experiences for learners thru career related workshops, both on site and on a virtual platform, cultivating an inclusive, equitable and safe atmosphere for learning

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assess jobseekers career needs and provide appropriate job search, support services, or training options through partner programs or center resources.
Assist jobseekers in developing individual training and job search plans that will fit their specific needs.
Facilitate Center workshops and welcome meetings; research, develop and update workshop content as needed to address relevant and current job search skills.
Provide technical assistance and one-on-one training on the use of computers (including the internet and social media), fax and copy machines, and various software to assist jobseekers in their job search; provide a wide range of job coaching on all subjects related to job searching and changing jobs and/or careers.
Maintain knowledge of all Career Center programs available for eligible members as well as programs of partner agencies and refer members to the appropriate program(s) to address needs.
Perform all necessary data entry into computer system on a timely and accurate basis documenting training attendees, notes from member meetings and any other jobseeker interactions.
Assist in developing flyers, brochures and other methods to promote program and job placement activities
Market the program to referring agencies, the wider community and the general public to ensure outcomes reflect our expected agreement deliverables
Prepare documentation and reports related to program activities, track participant activities and progress data and updates on a regular basis
Assist in developing curriculum
Remain adaptive to changes in service delivery models, the labor market or participant trends
Ability to articulate ideas verbally and in writing with a wide variety of audiences and learning styles (in-person and online).
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Superior attention to detail and organizational abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) Google Workspace (Email, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides) applications and virtual classroom platforms such as Webex, Zoom or GoToMeeting
Manage all logistics of trainings, including scheduling, program supplies, inventory management, communication, space, and equipment.
Collaborate actively with various teams to support promotion, recruitment, enrollment, and facilitation of workshops, classes, and activities.
Ability to manage projects, prioritize and accommodate last-minute requests effectively.
Ability to demonstrate cultural sensitivity with staff, teams, customers, and partners representing diverse cultures, ethnicities, sexual orientations, gender identities, socioeconomic statuses, educational backgrounds, worldviews, literacy levels, and languages.
Perform additional duties as required.
Ensure confidentiality within all areas of responsibility.

Bachelor’s degree preferred; preferably in counseling, social work or a human services field or three or more years of experience working in counseling and/or case managment; knowledge of job search and career planning and development desirable.

Bi-lingual (English / Spanish)

Strong written , verbal and listening skills along with proven presentation skills to facilitate workshops.

A strong knowlege of local labor market information.
