Accounting Clerk – Fiscal Report Specialist is a part-time position targeted to support our accounting department. In general, responsibilities include regularly and accurately entering all data into ledgers, generating fiscal report details on request, ensuring that paper and digital records are organized and accessible, & supporting the Finance Manager to produce timely and accurate budgets, and financial reporting for company leadership. Month-end responsibilities include assisting with closing journals and running reports.
Hands on use of our primary accounting software (QuickBooks Online), Microsoft Excel, and other systems utilized by the company.
Verify that all deposits and disbursements from several bank accounts are reconciled monthly, and up to date prior to delivering reports for weekly AP payments.
Processing security deposit funds.
Annually, at the direction of the Finance Manager, assist with the preparation of agency budgets and audits. As needed, assist with audits by government agencies, insurance companies, and others. Assist with closing journals and running reports.
Skills: Minimum 5 years hands-on bookkeeping experience, preferably in a nonprofit organization, with proficient use of finance software, specifically QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel. Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication, and analytical skills. Detail oriented and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize and meet strict deadlines. Positive attitude and the ability to respond quickly and definitively to co-workers, senior management and third parties, including vendors and clients. Knowledge of the city of Holyoke or a resident is a plus. We seek a candidate who embraces our mission. Bilingual is also plus but not required.
